The Trump Administration imposed a 10% tariff to Aluminum and 25% to Steel from Mexico. In retaliation the Mexican Government imposed tariffs to the U.S. from 7% to 25% to different pork, cheese, whisky, household aluminum products and many steel products.

According to the last publication of the Mexican Customs Reforms, the DODA (Operation Document for Customs Clearance) is going to take effect throughout Mexico, it is the Paperless Customs Clearance System, which will allow to attached several Mexican Entries in one piece of paper containing a QR code that will allow to scan the information regarding the shipment, at the present it is in test mode in Nuevo Laredo.
The Mexican Import Duties and Taxes will change from PECA (Centralized Electronic Payment) to the new scheme where the importer pays the Tax Service Administration the way that Mexican Tax declarations are paid.
Value Declaration that is issued by the importer will no longer be needed to be signed by hand it will change to electronic signature.
The Electronic Customs Power of Attorney will not only be needed for imports but now also for exports.
The importer is responsible for the veracity of the documents of the electronic record (Invoice, Bill of Lading (Sea), non-tariff barriers and weight certificate) that can lead to penalties and suspension of the importer registry for declaring false or non-existing information.
